It is an economical polyester peel ply suitable for vacuum bagging of wet-lay laminates, peel ply resin infusion and hand-layup applications. It is compatible with a wide range of resin systems including epoxy, polyester and vinylester.
Peel ply is most commonly used to create a textured surface on a laminate ideal for secondary laminating/bonding or to act as a porous, removable barrier between the laminate and other bagging consumables for processes such as resin infusion.
Being a porous layer, peel ply allows the vacuum to bleed trapped air and volatiles out of the laminate and so finds applications in wet-lay vacuum bagging, resin infusion and some prepreg laminating.
